Best Bulking Shake? Cleanest!
Hi Guys
I found this shake, which is just protein only, no carbs, here:
http://www.bodybuilding4you.co.uk/dy...lb-p-1078.html
But what is the best bulk shake? I want a clean bulk only, no sugars!
Any ideas?
I want to lose a bit of fat though, but bulk at the same time, do-able?
Thanks
Matt

THe whole idea behind most bulking shakes are they are full of fat and carbs with many grams of sugar. What you posted is whey protein.
Most bulk shakes are a waste because you only get a couple of servings out of a large jug. You are better off with real food

Scoop of whey
Cup of oats
1 banana
500 ml 2 percent milk
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon almond butter
Way cheaper than any sort of weight gainer and does pretty much the same thing, and it taste better.

Take 100% whey protein in the morning. Take whey protein isolate after workout. Take casein before bed. In your postworkout shake also add about 100 grams of carbs. These can be quick acting sugars like maltodextrin and dextrose or slow acting complex carbs like oats. There's a debate about this and sugars and insulin spikes, but I go with the maltodextrin/dextrose mix.
Don't get any premixed weightgaining stuff. It's overpriced and has very few servings. Just get the protein and mix in the carbs yourself.
Sugars aren't "bad", they are fast acting, high energy. You need this after a workout, but not most other times. Read the nutrition stickies.

^^^^^ you can ignore most of this. Just eat some good and pay little or no reliance on supplemental protein shakes. Invest your he'd waned money on egg whites, chicken and steak.

Thanks guys
Well the real food, chicken and steak etc will be eaten in my 6 meals per day. But the protein only shake that I posted a link to is what I will be having 3 a day of (double scooped at 48g per shake, so 150g per day of protein shake) and I will buy 1 tub of this every 3 weeks (as it will run out fast!).
If I want to lose fat, and gain lean muscle, its not really a bulking cycle I need is it? When I did my first ever bulk, I bulked up a lot, but on "dirty" shakes, high in carbs and sugar, and I gained fat as well.
I do not want to gain fat, but I want to build lean muscle, I will be on 750mg of test E per week, and 300g of protein per day....but how many calories (clean!) should I be eating per day?
As the shakes are only 200 calories each.
I want to bulk still and be bulky, can I do this without eating 3000 calories per day?
Thanks

Well, the vets always say just eat more food, which yes works. But, I have trouble eating that much and find shakes easier. Basically you want 1 to 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight per day divided into about eight meals, so for a 200 lb guy you wanna eat about 50 grams of protein every 2 to 3 hours, which is about 8 oz of meat. That may be a little high, but that's what the pros do and you don't wanna go lower than 1 gram. I shoot for that much and then if I don't quite make it, I'm still at a high level and don't sweat it. To eat that much, I find it helps to make some of those "meals" shakes. They say you don't wanna have more than about 25% of your protein from shakes, but at that level, that's still 100 grams of protein in shakes, which is a lot. That still leaves 300 grams from other food, which is about 3 lbs of meat, so yes, you're still eating a ton.
But, I don't get the hate for shakes. When you get the big tubs of powder they're not much more expensive than meat for grams of protein/$ and are a lot easier to get down.
But, I just consider shakes to be food. So, yes you could do a shake or real food, just meet your macros.
But, get that protein level regardless and then the rest of your calories from carbs or fat determine whether or not you're bulking or cutting. But, yes to bulk you have to eat more calories than your total daily energy expenditure or you're losing weight, not bulking.
So you don't have to follow my shake recommendations, but that's how I like to do it.

I mean you can get about 73 servings of 24 grams/serving protein powder for about $50. That comes to about 35 grams of protein/$. You can get get cheap meat for about $3/lb which is about 33 grams of protein/$ or better qualitity meat for about twice that. So I think protein powder is about the same price or cheaper than meat. So eat either one. Why the hate for shakes? Just don't buy the expensive premixed ones.
