As far as I'm aware your body will basically absorb as much as it needs. This can be dependent on your height, weight, age, body composition, activity level, etc. Considering that protein is involved in more bodily processes than any other macronutrient it would only make sense that with higher protein needs comes increased absorption of protein. So my guess would be that the harder you train, the more damage you'll do to your muscles (on a cellular level), which means more cells will need to be repaired, protein requirements will increase, and thus so should absorption. *Don't have any official sources to credit for this info, just best guess based on the knowledge I do have*
