    Requesting help on actual supplements...

I literally haven't taken a otc supplement other then Walmart protein in years, "well except for the random energy drink at the gym if I'm really tired"... I have a show in four weeks sat and I was thinking about starting a stack of actual supplements. Anyone knowledgeable in this area please help.

I've read a lot about them and have tried a lot of them as well. I might be able to help. What are your goals?

I have a bodybuilding comp in four weeks so I don't want to do anything that could possibly change my appearance negatively at all of coarse.... I also want a plan for post show when my body will be rebounding like crazy... Ill have about two months off "where I can get baxk to around 8% bf" and then I'm back to the diet but I want to gain as much muscle mass as possible in those 8wks

BCAAs, creatine, glutamine, whey, mulitivitamin...the basics, all you really need IMO

Creatine can bloat so if you don't want that possibility then I'd avoid that preshow, the bcaa's are always good. For any water retention you may already have something but a supplement called xpel works for most. Cla + fish oil 2 tabs each 3 times a day will help to keep fat off as it has been proven in studies to reduce fat even without a change in diet. R-ala is another very good supplement to help with fat and is quite a powerful antioxidant.

Expel works for me. And as far as just a good, fun supplement, nx6 is by far the best ive used that domt really serve a purpose. I look "juiced"for hours after I work out. Pumps literally last 8 hours and can get painful. I love it!

Its just a natural diuretic. Gaspari puts it out I think. Could be wrong there. Its not anything like pharma stuff, but it works well if taken for a few days as directed. You'll be peeing non stop.

I second this! You want to dry out for a show? This will definitely help! It's made by MHP http://supplementreviews.com/mhp/xpel

ECA stack is ok, but if you are already as lean as you want to be aside from some water weight, you don't need it.

Both. I don't use it on leg day. Sometime skip it on back day as well.

If that's you in your avatar you don't need any supplements & i don't think it'll make much of a difference regardless.

    My daily supplements are
    Whey Protein
    Multi Vitamin
    Saw Palmetto
    Green Tea Extract
    Beef Liver Tablets
Creatine Magnesium Chelate(i get upset stomach from regular mono)

First of all, I'd like to say OTC supps are the most hyped and overrated aspect of what we do. If your diet is good, you don't even need supps.

I think most of us take supps as an insurance policy. I certainly do. "Just in case" I didn't get what I needed today, so then i take the multi, fishoil, c,e, calcium.....

what I do take that doesn't adhere to this is this

    Creatine
    Resveratrol
Glutamine (just started again to try and overcome lactic acid buildup in the gym)

So if you have a show coming up in 4 weeks, you did all the hard work without the supps. which really proves my point.

I'd suggest the creatine. get the cheapest creatine mono in bulk you can find. if you need a source, then pm me and I'd be happy to show you where i get mine.

    Good luck mate!

Creatine might not be what he wants right now if he has a show coming up so soon.
