Exploring other Protein Powders
I have always been a 100% Gold Standard Whey Protein guy and made that my only choice for protein. I want to explore other brands and protein powders. Any suggestions??

I like ON's Casein for before bed and sometimes during the day. I've been stuck on ON for a while mostly because of taste.

I like ON myself. Ive been using it mostly, and syntha 6 before bed. Its really tasty. I also like Dymatize gourmet blends pretty good.

I've enjoyed and switch between myofusion, syntha 6, gold standard, and Max's super whey

Over priced! Now I aint no expert but I have tried my fair share. And to me gold Standard is as good as some of the more expensive ones. Now I cant remember all the names. But for the price GS is good enough for me.

Get something cheap with a decent amino profile. I found a site online that sells 45lb bags works out to 35$ for 5 lbs..going to order some up pretty quick here.

Biggest reason I watch what kind of protein I get is because of the fillers. Walmart brands tend to advertise a certain gram percent of protein even though some of the fillers are considered. I have a study on this I can dig up. Some advertise, for instance, 30 grams of protein but end up being like 18 grams. And since the fda has no say or care in supplements, they get away with it. 54 bucks for 5.5lbs of gold standard is pretty cheap considering it is isolated whey and is over 90% pure. Heavy metals just spooks me.

I recently switched from On to Intek. This stuff tastes great to me.

There's no reason to switch really unless something is cheaper they are all pretty much the same.
Primal whey is cheap. 160 for 385 servings. At 20 grams of protein per serving even if you double up it will last as long as gold standard plus 15 more grams of protein

ONs ProComplex is pretty good also. Its a touch more $$ than gold standard but it has more protein (30g) per scoop so you can use a little less. Fitrx.com has great prices. There GS is only 45 for 5lbs. Only place I use

I actually prefer the kind they carry at costco over anything else i have ever tried. I believe its muscle milk brand, here is a pic of it. It doesn't have any added shit, tastes pretty good to drink, and makes the best whey pancakes ever. Also cheap of course, since its costco, although admittedly you can find cheaper online.
I've recommended it to so many people i feel like they should be paying me commission by now...
included a pic of the nutrition data from the bag

here.
unfortunatley it's almost twice as much as it is in-store, i wouldn't say it's worth it. But this is a great place to order cheap whey online, so many options its almost overwhelming and definitely on the cheaper side. I always do a custom mix and am never disappointed, it also lets you tailor it to your macro needs.

i use "true nutrition" protein powder. they let you customize whatever mix you want (whey, milk protein isolate, casein, whatever) 5% discount if you buy in "bulk" (16+ pounds), and they periodically run a "10% off" sale.
i also use "muscletech" that i get at sam's club in 5 lb bags.

What "mix" are you guys that use true nutrition using? I just ordered some but the amount of choices is truly overwhelming. I kinda just tried to copy the stuff Ive been using since I didnt know how else to go about it.

i agree that the options are overwhelming. opinions vary on what is the "best" mix. i suppose the answer somewhat depends on what kind of training you are doing, what your goals are, etc
my last order was:
-Micellar Casein [Milk] (20%)
-Whey Protein Concentrate - Super Grade [Milk] (80%)
i like the dutch chocolate fudge flavor, but i have not tried any others (except french vanilla, which was good, too.)

I used Champion Nutrition whey isolate for a couple years. I'm back to isopure now, but the cost of the champion nutrition was pretty good. a 5# ran 35$ by me.
