what is the difference between ephedrine and ephedra?

It doesnt come from the same plant. Ephedera is the plant/herb. In the US, epherderine cant be sold as a supplement anymore. But many supplement stores sell "ephederX" and the likes. And ma huang is also derived from the ephedera plant/herb. It is legal here but is sold as chinese alt meds. If a product contains ephederine hcl, it should be real. Psudophedera isn't. Really need Bonaparte in here on this one. I don't know if he frequents these parts often.

Sorry. Ephederine is synthesised from the ephedera. Much like cocaine is synthesized from coca leaves. Coca leaves are stimulants themselves, but when turned to cocain, the effects are way stronger. Same with ephederine.

Ephedra is usually referred to as the extract of ma hung plant and contains ephedrine (amongst other things like pseudoephedrine) and when produced pharmaceutically is ephedrine hcl or sulfate. Ephedra is most likely banned and not ephedrine b/c there's no measurable fixed amount of ephedrine in ephedra.

ephedra has little to no effect on me (no "buzz", alertness, extra sweating, no perceived increase in fat burnt, etc)

ephedrine gives me all the effects I am looking for, and has proved beneficial towards the goals of my current cut.

Thank you. Your right about ephedra. It is ok, but it isnt what we look for. It is the same compound, but it is more raw and nowhere nearly as potent. The rule of cocain synthesization (if that's a word) is the same with ephederine. Coca leaves do stimulate, but about as much as a cup of coffee, if even that much.

The difference between ephedra and ephedrine is that ephedra is a mix of other plant alkaloids in addition to the ephedrine. But the ephedrine it contains is exactly the same and yields the same effect as ephedrine HCL or sulfate. 25mg ephedrine HCL is the same thing as 25mg ephedrine from ephedra.
