I would recommend 5mg of melatonin and 1500mg of Valerian root. You'll sleep like a baby.

I've used up to 10mg and feel 5mg worked just as well.

GABA helped me even moreso than the melatonin.

Now, let me explain the reason this is my suggestion: Valerian root is known as "Nature's Valium" is a potent otc sedative. In low doses during the day, it helps with irritability and aggression. In larger doses it induces a deep dream free sleep. However, most medication induced insomnia doesn't respond to it or other OTC methods as individual medications. When you add Valerian root and melatonin together, it has a compounding effect. It doesn't induce sleep the same way that a prescription sleeping pill will, it just makes you feel relaxed and sleepy. This combination reliably gets results, but is mild enough in its actions that you don't feel like you've taken something to make you sleep.

So for those of you for whom the melatonin isn't enough, try adding Valerian Root. It's available in 500mg veg capsules for less than $10 for 90 capsules.

I like melatonin. If taken every night, it is recommended that one take 0.5 to 1mg at 3 to 5 hours before bedtime so as to augment one's natural production. But 3mg is by far the most common dose purchased. It's safe to take up to 10mg for short periods of time. I think this works well for run of the mill insomnia, but for tren-induced insomnia I think most ppl need something stronger.
But if you want to stick with more natural alternatives, in addition to valerian root that was already suggested is tryptophan 500mg (which is not to be mixed with certain meds, namely SSRI's) and GABA 500-750mg which some studies show may increase the male nighttime GH surge. These both can be safely combined with melatonin and can result in potent combinations in some individuals.

I've never used it. High doses of GH usually take care of my trensomnia. Much more expensive than melatonin however!!!!!

I've never tried valerian root but I've mixed the other 3 (GABA, tryptophan, and melatonin) many times and never had any problems. I know that doesn't guarantee that they're ok to combine but I don't know of any contraindications between them. Try two of them at a time and once you've tried all 3 combos of 2 at a time then you can consider mixing all 3.

And congruent with MI's suggestion, you can always try one of the GHRH's or GRF's like sermorelin or mod grf 1-29 as they are supposed to promote slow wave sleep. As far as GH stimulation, they don't do too much on their own but add a ghrp (preferably -2 or -6) and that might produce a moderate GH boost.

10-4 on that. seems that 5mg is helping moderatly at best. had a dream last night that i was driving my truck through the grocery store with my buds and shot one in the face like what happened to jimmy in pulp fiction!!!

A common OTC combination for sleep is melatonin, Lemon Balm (Melissa), and Valerian Root. I find that even for amphetamine/stimulant induced insomnia this combination works exceptionally well. For my patients for whom this is not enough, I recommend adding in Chamomile tea or a sleepytime tea and L-Tryptophan. When that fails, I usually recommend a good orgasm, but that's the perspective of a herbalist and midwife.... *shrugs*

Is this available as a single combination pill or must it be taken individually? Also I've never heard of lemon balm so I will do a Google search and read about it for a few min, but if there is anything specific about it you'd like to share I would like to learn.

I was gonna take melatonin but I read it caused gyno in some people? So not sure how good it is to run in conjunction with a cycle.

5 mg of melatonin and chamomile worked well for me, as well as establishing a consistent nighttime routine.

Melatonin does nothing for me however valerian does work. I had better success buying it in raw herbal form from bulk section of health food store, seemed way more potent.
