I am looking for a supplement I can take that will help to kill the hungry feeling............I remember someone talking about a root extract or something. I really cant remember.

Preferably in pill form.
Cheapest appetite suppressants around are ICE COLD water and chewing gum. Drink the ice-cold water all day and chew gum in between meals.
Give that a go for a week or two and you probably won't want to add an OTC appetite suppressant. Eating lots of fibre will also help

CLA can help but probably not cost effective. Ephedrine helps curb my hunger.
coffee
drink coffee and that will significantly reduce hunger
I dont know if it works or not but the dubious supplement industry was pushing Citrimax for this purpose.
here's the funny thing.
There is no profit in saying caffeine reduces hunger. Which is why you don't see it on TV.
But believe me, we all know coffee staves off hunger pagns a few hours after you should have eaten.
If the coffee industry ever decides to promote coffee as a weight loss tool, then we'd see alot more of us on here doing it.
But unfortunately, all we see on TV is the bullsh1t, like 5hour energy that costs $3/shot. You can make whole pots of coffee for $1.
Coffee is a well understood appetite suppresent. I'm not sure why all the kids seem to think they need to spend big bucks on stuff that has little data and is potentially dangerous?
You hit the nail on the head TR. Caffeine is a very effective appetite suppressant. Not sure why someone would really want to suppress their appetite.Originally Posted by Times Roman

I'll bite.
There is little data suggesting the safe pharmacology use of it. it's fairly new. It's contraversial. it's the stuff in jack3d.
Coffee has been around for thousands of years. it has a crap load of clinical data to suggest it's safe use. it is extremely well understood. and it is well known to be effective.
So tell me again why you'd want a crap shoot with DMAA?
Response in bold. No disrespect is intended through my response TR. I think its good you brought up these points (and could be construed as reckless on my part for not bringing them up, nor asking experience of OP--firm believer in "walking" before you "run" aka start with a less powerful, safer supp and if it works, great! No need to take more than what is required to be effective) and I think this could lead to a great discussion.
Sometimes I assume (yes I know the 'ole adage concerning assuming!) all the 'controversy' surrounding DMAA is common knowledge, but then stuff like this comes up and I have to remind myself that not everyone is as enlightened as you and I.

I think the fda was working very hard to ban dmaa..but Pat Arnold is a genius. They said it wasnt naturally occurring (a reason they could ban it as a supp ) and he turned around and proved it was naturally occurring.
Then they banned it anyway.
Im such a PA fanboy. I think if he developed a supp made from cow shit Id buy it LOL. From what I understand, the FDA has not banned DMAA (yet anyways). Its banned by WADA, but you can still buy it on the regular by either 'finding' original DMAA based PWOs, or buying currently in production supps like AMP/Clearshot or other EPharm DMAA based products on dpsnutrition (and other sites im sure)
Yeah I think PA is a chemistry genius. Hell the guy made a steroid from female birth control that he said was synthesized basiclly at a kitchen table ! LOL
google this: fda bans dmaa
You may find still on the shelf products but production of new product containing it is banned. So once the stock of already made product is gone - bye bye dmaa
I did the search and the one thing that I noticed was there was not anything on the first page of the search results from the FDAs website. I went to the FDA.gov website and did a search.
The press release I found was mentioned in the articles from the google search, but did not sing to the same tune as the articles from google. The FDA issued warning letters, but nothing was mentioned about placing the substance on a banned substance list. The way I am reading this is the articles from google spun the words in the FDA press release to make it seem like the FDA banned all DMAA supps, but in reality they issued 10 warning letters to companies that had not submitted proper paperwork to the FDA allowing them to market a "new dietary ingredient".
I think one can decipher there is a lot of pressure from the FDA on DMAA based supps and they will most likely be banned in the future (probably sooner than later) but have not been completely banned yet.
Heres the press release:
