I would think that buying in bulk would bring a LOT of un-wanted attention from the authorities. Shoot, I have to show and scan my DL here just for one box.

It's monitored because the main ingredient you're after is also a major component used in the manufacturing of a common street drug.

The pharmacy I buy mine at has a placard on the counter stating it's a felony offense to purchase more than 9 grams in a one month period. As stated above, main ingredient is used to make a horrible street drug that has destroyed many lives in my area.
