Nutritional and Supplement advice for my buddy

    Group,

A good buddy of mine has recently lost 70lbs in 6 months! I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of him.

He lifts 5-6 days a week with a trainer and has a good diet. He does 30 minutes of cardio 7 days a week.

He's not looking to be a ripped bodybuilder, but has hit a plateau of weight loss.

    His Stats:

    41yo
    6'4"
    270lbs (down from 340lbs)

I advised him to see an endocrinologist and gave him a list of blood markers to get checked. Everything came back great, including TSH, T-3, and T-4. His total and free testosterone was on the lower end of normal, but within normal limits. The endocrinologist said he wanted to see if his testicles would be stimulated by prescribing clomid vs. HRT with the idea of trying to fix his low test vs. treating with test for now.

I know T-3 supplementation can raise metabolism
I know that Clen will also help shed bodyfat
I know that diet and cardio are key

I have created a diet diary to log each item that goes in his mouth. It's essentially listing the macros of protein, carbs, sugar, fiber, and total calories. I have stressed to him how important protein is and that he needs to keeping track of getting at least 1G of protein per lb/body weight per day. I am asking him to weigh and measure everything he consumes at each meal.

    1. At what point should he consider adding Clen and/or T-3 into his supplement regiment? (If you have a high bf%, will he benefit at all?)
    2. Would any of the known testosterone compounds be of benefit yet? (since his bf% is still high)

    Thoughts?

I'd consider L-Carnintine and/or an ECA stack before diving into T3 & Clen . Even then, if BF isn't excessively high, I'd consider albuterol before clen.

Thanks Austinite. This is the second time I have heard albuterol mentioned recently. Has this been proven better than clen or fewer sides?

Certainly less sides. Very effective. I'm a huge fan of T3, but he is not using a dose of testosterone to stave off muscle waste, I wouldn't recommend it. Go with Albut.

I'll second albuterol....its a good option. Ill prob never use clen again. Not because it doesnt work - it does, but albuterol is SO much easier to manage sides wise and sleep wise. Its night and day. Any increased fat burning i get using clen over albuterol i probably lose so much more due to poor rest and sleep its unreal.

He is wanting to do a cycle of gear and wonder how much he would benefit from a cyp/mast or cyp/prop or prop only cycle since he still has about 70lbs to loose. Thoughts?

I'd have to now his full stats to proceed, including body fat percentage. I would steer clear of cycling when you're over-weight.

I'm getting his exact info and will post it soon. Does Ar-r carry Albuteral? I looked under the brand and generic names...no luck.

I did clen a few years ago and couldn't handle the sides! You have me excited about albuteral....

    Update on my buddy's stats:

    41
    6'3"
    275lbs (down 70lbs)
    28% bodyfat

This sounds more diet related than anything. Might be a good idea to post the diet program you have him on in the nutrition section for some critique.
