    Supps for sleep?

I've been a poor sleeper since my early teens, and I quit taking prescription sleep aids about 2 years ago. What do you guys use to help with falling and staying asleep? It's gotten a little worse on cycle

Would melatinin and magnesium with zinc like in a ZMA product work fine as well? (it would be something like 300mg of magnesium/20mg of zinc) what do you think?

Well, I buy the 400 magnesium citrate tabs. And I take one daily, but if I want to use it as a muscle relaxer, I take 3 tabs. So 1200 mg works for me. Rarely have I taken 4 tabs.

Sure. But I prefer Zinc in the morning so I usually keep it out of any sleep aid stacks. I seem to recall some sort of inhibitory effect of zinc in this equation though, I'll have to research that to refresh my memory.

Yeah magnesium won't hurt you. When I had muscle spasms I took it for a month. But you end up with yucky visits to the bathroom if you use it too often at high doses.

Yes, you can use more, just expect that if you use it at higher doses for too long, you'll have the bathroom problems I mentioned earlier. If you have trouble sleeping every single night, I would not look for pills as a solution. It's then time to find out what is really going on. Masking problems is only OK if it's temporary while you find the cause.

You could have sleep apnea like me, make you feel tired and never get enough sleep.

I've been using Bullet Proof. The melatonin in it helps, but the taste takes some getting used to.

Ditto. 5mg of melatonin & 400mg of magnesium works very well for me. Prior to this I took Benadryl for sleep, Melatonin works much better & no hangover feeling in the morning.

5mg melatonin and 400mg Magnesium is exactly what my TRT doctor recommended. I was taking advil pm, the supplements definitely have me feeling better in the morning. Not perfect sleep but, tons better than without anything.

Good doc! Most people don't realize that Magnesium is a muscle relaxer. I never take it during the day.
