    bloodwork before supplements?

ive been away for some time. sorry for the boring post...

    1. i see some members have a massive rotation of supplements for a multitude of specific purposes. just curious if anybody gets cleared from a doc with blood work before they start popping a half dozen supplement rotation?

    2. has anybody had luck with any appetite suppressants? im well aware diet and cardio are numero uno when it comes to fat loss. problem is my portion control. i know i know thats its my own self control that is my worst enemy but just curious if anybody has tried any with results

Anyone who pops half a dozen supplements without research is lacking some serious common sense.

You should certainly test blood levels for vital serums, such as Vitamin D for example. If you're deficient in any vitamins/minerals, you should seek a physicians attention to help you find the root cause and treat the issue.

Data is readily available for most of the common supplements and the doses folks take today are generally harmless. (You'd have to be really really really clueless to cause harm to yourself with vitamins/herbs).

I monitor blood levels heavily. Excessively, rather. But you don't really need to. Take as much B12 as you want. Take 100 times the RDA for vitamin C, take 20 grams of amino acids daily... it doesn't really matter.

it was actually your post that made me want to ask my question! thanks for the response. i gather fish oil and vitamins are relatively harmless but you named some "essential" supplements that i was clueless on (thanks for the info btw)...

i was curious if some of those supplements (Ubiquinol ??) should be cleared by doc before taking?

No you can take Ubiquinol. Depending on your age you may not need it. And the only proven stable one is UBQH. Everything else is likely to convert back to CoQ10.
