Vitamin D3 how much is to much?

I had posted my blood test results in the blood test area, but I guess they are just for those who use AAS.

To make the story as short as possible. About a year ago I was irritable, depressed and tired ALL the time. Test came back normal, but free test was only 11.2 from the range of 8.7-25 (labcorb). At the suggestion of one of the members here, I got on 5,000 iu's of D3 a day and the next blood test was 17.5. I felt so much calmer and more lively.

Several months ago my vitamin D came back low, but oddly enough my total and free test were up, so I didn't understand how it could have gotten so low. I was prescribed 50,000 iu's twice a week. It was 30.00 a month, so instead I just decided to take the Doctor's Best brand of D3 I had here. I opted to take 10,000 iu's a day 7 days a week.

So I just got my blood work done again and when it came back, it confirmed how I had been feeling again lately (slow, sluggish, just like before). My free test now is back in the low 11's and my total vitamin D is 36 on a scale of 30-100. I'm not happy about this and I know I should be feeling better. Total test is 877, so that's good for being almost 36 and natural. However, it's not doing me much good if I can't use it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might try? What should I avoid to have it get low the next time?

Didn't read it all. But an intake of 1 million IU's will not harm you. Obviously if taken orally it could upset your stomach. But intravenously it would do no harm.

Hopefully that answers your question of "How much is too much".

Thank you for that... nice dog in the pic by the way. I have 2 currently and have had a few others as well. Such love bugs.

Back on topic... do you know why it would have gone back down to 11 after going up to 17.5 with only 5k iu's? I'm very confused by that.

I was low in D, my doc told me to supplement that.
I supplemented at 5000iu ED and I noticed I got more morning wood, and night time erections.
I also have not been sick since doing that.
Also deficiencies can lead to prostate issues, they just talked on the news about this very topic this week.

Doc said 3/4 of all adults in California she tests are low in D.

Interesting. I'd love to hear more about this sometime. For me, it's like B12, just can't get enough. But I'm also considerably deficient where calcitonin is working against me. Until I resolve calcitonin, D3 is injected in 300,000 IU doses.
