    Best supplement for energy

Just wondering what you guys rate as the best supplement for energy levels for cardio specifically, and also for weight training. I'm not big on supplements n that n I'm bang out of shape as well, when I say that I mean 3 years of solid eating and next to no exercise. Firstly I am looking to get my cardio up but that's difficult when you don't have much energy and you're taking medication to help you sleep, which affects your breathing...

    Thanks for any tips

don't recommend energy supps. most are not good. some are dangerous.

if you are looking for a stim, suggest coffee. low sides, and the effects are well understood. plus fairly natural.

your best bet is to start eating right.

    eat only whole foods
    skip the processed food
    just drink water
avoid eating things with ingredients you cannot pronounce nor understand what it is

asking the question is the first step to redemption

    honesty time. I'll go first.

I tell everyone I've been lifting since I was 12. that is the truth. but I went almost ten years in the middle there not lifting, not eating right, over drinking, and I ballooned up. You know how fvcked up someone can get when they let themselves go to hell for ten years? Plenty! Blood pressure through the roof, big beer belly, huffn and puffn when I had to bend over to tie my shoes. And sex was a lot of work.

I went on the Atkins diet, and walked the dog every night around the park. One lap was one mile. in the beginning, one lap was a lot of work. But it got better. The weight came off, the health went up, and I started to slowly train again. And my energy levels went up. I did not look for any short cuts. I knew what I had to do. And it took time.

So, I'm going to suggest (not knowing your present condition) you follow a similar path. Your body is like a battery. You will not get energy out of a dead battery. No matter how many stims you take.

You want more energy? Then look for ways to improve your body. Don't be looking for chemical assistance.

    Make sense?

Like the others said, you just need to start taking better care of yourself. Anything that gives you "energy" (like stimulants) is going to be a short term boost, which will quickly stop working and leave you burnt out. Eat better, lose weight, start working out.

A standard cup of coffee supposedly has 95 mg of caffeine.
But Sebastia wasn't talking about coffee, but caffeine anhydrous. 350 mg of pure caffeine will make you feel like shit (and do a number on your BP and HR, especially if you're in poor health like the OP).

the only time I ever took caffeine caps was by mistake. I lived in Georgia, in the military, and thought the local dealer was giving me street stims. It turns out you can buy 5,000 caps of caffeine from High Times magazine. Or you could at the time. And yes, I took a couple, and it made me feel poorly and hurt my stomach.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with coffee (back to OP). I've even drank it cold by putting in my shaker cup with protein powder to the gym with me. A good caffeine buz from coffee can be quite enjoyable

...one of the sides of sleep apnea is lethargy and loss of energy.

Do you have lab work? You might have a medical condition that requires TRT or something like a deficiency.

^^^^ Had sleep apnea and used CPAP. Takes a year to get the blood oxygen back to normal...even that did not help the lack of testosterone.

I am a solid believer that a million bad things come from low test. I see all of them correcting each day I am on TrT. I would start with 300 bucks and a full test of metabolic, blood, hormone, thyroid, etc. After that look for your problem and solve it. The moment I started TrT it was like I was 18 again and each week that passes a new curtain is opened.

I'm working late at night , usualy from 9 pm to 4-5 am, and doing just 1 scoop of ON Amino energy keeps me fresh. Recommended is 2-6 scoops (2 scoop = 1 serving)

Not drinking coffe any other time nor taking preworkout
