Omega 3 supplement bad? Are they serious?

Just ran upon this article, basically bashing (IMO), that taking omega supplements and eating fish more than 4x/week is bad.

Supposedly the study they did suggested a 70% increase in prostate cancer.

They also mentioned that taking the supplements or eating fish would have no more/no less effect on reduced heart attack than not taking anything.

There are articles all over the web bashing just about any sup you wanna talk about. I recently posted up an article bashing Vit D and another bashing the use of niacin to help control lipids. We can't have you taking your health into your own hands....keep taking your Omega-3s

Publication bias is always an issue in the scientific community. This is even more true when it comes to the media. People will pay more attention to a study that says something will kill them more than a study that says it will help them. Do not take one study's results to heart.

Here is another particular study that analyzed many other studies with thousands of patients and it states this in the results section:

"Ten RCTs reported the incidence of cancer; 391 diagnoses of cancer or death from cancer occurred in 17 433 participants (two of the trials reported no cancers). We found no evidence that omega 3 fats had an effect on the incidence of cancer (1.07, 0.88 to 1.30) and there was no inconsistency (I2 = 0%) (fig 4). Five trials and seven events remained on sensitivity analysis."
