    Vitamin D Supplement

I was sitting in the Doctor's office the other day, being seen by a PA, so I asked him what type of supplement he thought was the best on the market (making small talk). He told me hands down that everyone should be on a D3 supplement and that it would help with weight regulation, mood and pretty much anything else positive in the world. I began doing some reading on vitamin D. Any experience or knowledge out there?

Ton's of it. Hands down best supplement (Hormone) out there. There are some good threads on it here. Use the search function. There's also a current thread in the line-up now.
Check out examine.com for all supplement info. Best site out there, imho. Most all are low but get tested to know your level before starting if you can.

There is a Vitamin D spray called Primal D. It's relatively new, but that's what I'd recommend for best efficacy.

I'd be interested in seeing any studies you may have on it KA regarding absorption.

I would also add B12 and vitamin C to the list, and together with D3, it makes an awesome daily stack.

Agree^^. If taking B12 get it in the form of "methyl" for best absorption. Jarrow makes a good product which is always backed up by my blood work.

No doubt you will but the only real way to know is to test before hand. Highly recommend it.

i'm taking 2,500iu per day. Jarrow advise to take EOD, but research suggests you can actually take around 10,000iu ED which is a lot more than the recommended daily allowance, which is around 2,000iu.

Vitamin D is something you can store. It's fat soluble. I can't remember exactly where, but I've seen some say you could literally take 20-25,000 iu once every 2 weeks instead of 2,000 iu/day.

How much you take is going to depend on blood work. And yes, you can take a form of D once weekly or so. Just get scripted for D2 @ 50K units per pill. For awhile I was taking 5K D3 per day and one D2 per week. Works great for me in the winter. In the summer it would put me way over range.
