Am trying to chart my progress and need to get some basic body part measurements. When is the best time to do this? In the morning when you get up or after working out?

its up to you...if u work bi's your bi's will obviously be slightly bigger after a workout...thats when most people measure them...unless u want smaller measurements, measure cold(not sure if there is a rule)
the measurements should honestly just be important to YOUR record keeping...either way you do it, keep track, and next time do them the same ya know...if u measure warm, measure warm every time...if u measure cold, measure cold everytime...if ur just doing it to post your stats on the board, measure hot![]()
As long as you are consistent, the results should be reliable.
You want to take them at the same time everytime you measure. That's more important then the time of day. However, for weight, I prefer first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
Well ****, you may as well take your measurements at the gym right after you finish your last set thenOriginally Posted by Fame

I was going to get my measurments done after a workout, but the trainer told me to do it BEFORE i lifted. Id say try both and compare, but like everyone said do it the sametime everytime.
Thanks for all the feedback!
i always do muscle cold....![]()
Yeh I agree, cold and unflexed. That way when I see all these huge measurements I get pissed and want to work out more. If you are 16" bis after a workout thats great, but those 16" arms turn to 15" arms the next day.Originally Posted by sepjuice
The best time to take your measurements is in the morning as soon as you wake, before you go to the bathroom it will be your true size and the easiest to monitor your progress.
Pooping makes that much of a difference?
