    Injury Question

    Bros,

I recently started my 8 week AAS cycle on mONADAY 6/22/04. Here is the problem. I woke up Tuesday Morning with horrific back pain on my right side by rear of my rib cage. Pain seems to spasm every time Ii put my head down (chin to chest). The oain has gotten more manageable, but not significantly better. I have cut out cardio and lifting for the last 2 days.

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but should I push through and continue to work through the pain. I feel no pain doing pushups.....pain occurs when performing pulling exercises only. If anyone has experience with minor back sprains and strains, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    -=-Head-=-

Get it checked out by a pro. I'm suffering lower back probs at the mo that stem from an injury as a teenager. When I was a teenager I had it checked out and treatment, and had no pain again afterwards. When I was in my early twenties I injured it in the gym doing good mornings but didn't seek no treatment, just took a few weeks off. A year later it came back whilst doing squats, again I simply took a few weeks off and got no treatment. Now I can only do seated or laying exercises, I am having treatment and will be able to get back to standing exercises eventually (I hope), but it's going to cost far more now than it would have if I'd gotten it as soon as I injured it years ago. And will probably take more time too.

Get it sorted or you don't know when it will return to haunt you!

I wouldn't push through it ... you may injure yourself further....get it checked first with xray or MRI. What were you doing when you first noticed the pain...or the last thing you did? Could be a herniated or slipped disk.

I squatted on Monday, did yoda tueday morning.....and after doing chest and forearms Tuesday night, i noticed that my back was a little tight....I woke up Wednesday morning, and my back was spasming as soon as I woke up. I only feel tightness and pain when:
    1. I move my neck downward
    2.spinal twist to the right
    3. do any standing pulling exercise (bicep curls especially)
4 arch my shoulders back and push my abdomen forward

Being the fact that it is only concentrated to the right side if my back, many people have suggested that is may be a rib sprain/strain. I have no pain touching my toes from the standing position. I hope this info helps and please give me your feedback

    I have a few questions:

Do yuo squat regularly with the same weight and form you used on Monday?
    No acute pain?
Do you sleep on your stomach?
Is this the first time you have had a back/neck problem?

    Answers to your Question

    1. Yes I always squat with usually the same weight (135,225,275,315,365) and use the same form
    2. I get lower stiffness in my lower back after going really heavy (405+), but never pain per se
    3. I usually sleep on my back, but from time to time I will fall asleep on my stomach
    4. I hurt my kneck back in 2000 playing rugby for my university (I fell on to my ass, so I was essentially seated on the grass...2 guys proceeded to land on my kneck and push it downward almost into the grass...I was taken away by abulance and given an MRI, X-Rays, etc....Turns out I only tore muscles and I was released that same day...sorry for the rambling session)

    Hope this helps,
