    sqat question

    i just watched the ronnie coleman's vid and saw that he does squats with the bar resting on his front delts.is this way easier on the lower back? i am going to try sqats after a 6 week stoppage due too lower back injury and dont want to re injur myself.

    I believe it may stress the lower back slightly less because you are not using the same poundages. He is doing it that way to hit more of the frontal quad. But be careful if you stick you legs way to far in front, then YES your going to hurt your lower back. I speak from personal experience on this one. lol

    With front squats you should be able to keep your torso more vertical, decreasing strain on the lower back.

    I seem to be able to go even deeper w/ front squats than a2g squats. I like am alot.

    front squats place greater infacis on the your lower back, bc you have to hold the wt more in the front and balance it, not above your lower back like rear squats...
