every1 talks bout how they got 20 inch bis and rep with 400 pounds on bench but then i go to the gym and i might see one guy reppin with 225. makes me wonder how few if any of u people are tellin the truth
I beleive some might be inflating theres a little but i bet bunch of these guys are hitting close or not right on what they are saying. i see quite a few people hit 300 for many reps. not where im at for 400 reps though. That is my dream by end of this summer i be hitting 400 1 to 2 times (hopefully sooner). when i do it i take picture to show everyone becuase i have hit one of my many goals that i started this year.Quote:

I dont know what gym you go to but mine got many guys doin 365-405 for reps...in fact just spotted one guy today who did 405 for 6 reps easy....:lift:Quote:

I don't know my bar bench max but Im 18 about 230 now, and put up 115 DB's for 5

I only do a max at the end of a work out. 285 to 300 1 rep
I always tell my much bigger, stronger and younger body building friends that I have never had a Judge ask be how much I can bench press.
I train in the 6 to 10 rep range always.

24 yrs old. Started working out for the first time in mid-Jan. Then it was 205, now its up to 260. All natural but I think alot has to do with just starting and getting used to the weight. Hopefully have 300 by end of Summer. I'm 6' 220.

im currently weighing 215 and around a month ago i maxed 340 2X

in 98 at my first powerlifting meet and my last at 251 i lifted
530. that was 8 weeks out from my last show i did. now i weigh 270 drug free and am at 500. i am not drug free by choice just gotta make another bambino first hoping this is the month got a big national qualifier going for in july

i dont think there is a reason to max cause you dont get anything from 1 rep
could someone tell me what would maybe that be for a max on the bar

Alright here goes my first post. Im 174ish and like some of the other guys said, I use dumbells because I think they work better. I havent maxed out on a flat bench in probably 2.5 years. However, I usually do 4 sets @ 8-10 reps with the 90lb dumbells, anyone have any idea about what I can max at?

i weigh 244,am 34 years old and did 445 with a shirt last week. i usually get 315 for 5 area raw. my partner is 255 and is doing 620 with a shirt he is 100% power lifter and is planning on beating the world record in 242 class which is 655 hopefully this year. i have seen him handle close to that and just missed.

your bench strength depends on so much
1)as body builders we take bar higher on chest, that habit I am still trying to break as i am doing bench meets now,which reduces bench
2)mechanics are very important
3)back work very important for bench--must have strong lats
4)tris very important for bench---if using a shirt the rebound effect takes bar to where the tris are doing most bench work--if no shirt tris still cruchial as most sticking points are at tris level
5)to build bench you must incorperate board presses and have proper mechanics

well my bench we max out a three rep max in football so it is differnt then u guys i am 290 and i got 365lbs 3 times that is my best i hope i can do like 400 like 2 times or even three by end of summer

lionman is impressive but my boy powerlifter jay did 620 in the gym at 240 a couple of weeks ago--hes planning on breaking the world record in 240 class(655) by hopefully june
