Change your back squats to free weights. Utilize the smith machine for front squats.

once you get comfortable with them, use freeweights for front squats as well.
i actually find front squats to help keep your back straight (well b/c you have to or you'll fall over like an ass) and make you use your legs more. although they do incorporate different muscles.

I don't really see a need for front squats, heavy free weight squats and heavy leg press seem to be enough for my quads.

i cant imagine doing front squats in a smith machine. DO em with a regular barbell.

Front squats burn and less weight is needed. I prefere the smith machine for them for safety reasons and there is less concentration on holding/balancing vs. the bar therfore, more emphasis can be directed at your target frontal quads.
