    Question Workout Equipment

Where is the best place to buy home gym equipment? I don't mean yard sales. If I really wanted to add to a home gym where should I look? Are there some good internet based businesses? Mail order catalogs? What brands names are good?

    Thanks.

I'll tell you what, my school bought a new set of dumbells that were encased in rubber. Its really a good idea. You don't have to worry about dropping them as much, and for your house, they would be great. Whenever I get my home, those are the ones I'm gonna get.

My gym in NJ has DB's that are a combination of plates screwed together. They look nice, but you have to be so careful when you put them down, even then, after time they loosen up and you have to tighten them.

My school also used to have solid DB's w/o rubber and with the heavier weights the grip section began to bend (from the impact of dropping them). Also, if you get cheapo solid ones they may break apart (my school bought those after the solid DB's w/o rubber and before the rubber coated ones)

Thanks for the input guys. I think I am going to go with www.fitnessfactory.com for my home supplies. Has anyone used them before? If not check it out and let me know what you think of thier site and selection.
