Okay question for everyone
Okay guys, my question here is how often a year do you train? Is it 6 months out of the year, all year long or just during the summer.

I first started lifting back in 1979 and it was mostly hit and miss. I'd lift for a few months then I'd miss for a few months. But I have'nt missed a full week since 1982. We even find a gym when we go on vacation every year. So I lift year around every year.

All year, with a week off every 8-10 weeks just to give the body a rest.

NEVER STOP WORKING OUT, NEVER SURRENDER, NEVER SURRENDER!!!
Well, it's good to take short breaks every now and then. After you workout for like 3 months straight (3-4 times a week) then try and take a full week off, and let your body relax
Never actually done this myself, but will soon.

I change my workout every six weeks, a way to shock my body and stop it from adapting. At the end of the six weeks I skip one workout of every body part. I find it helps my joints , or any nagging injury I may have. I noticed my lifts also increase in weights after each break.

All year man, i stopped for a while when i was in junior high and it took me almost 5 years to hit it again, i can not afford to make that mistake again. Plus i feel like a pussy if i don't lift, so i guess you could also call me a ego lifter, either way i love it.

I think it's safe to say that almost everyone here that spends time on a bodybuilding forum works out all year round.

More than a day off makes me feel like I'm not accomplishing anything. It's like I'm not myself, so I don't think I'll stop until I keel over

I try to work out all year round, but things happen (vacations, flu, loosing your lazy ass training partner, OT @ work, etc) and I end up missing a week or 2, every 4 months or so. The funny part is that my body seems to like the rest in between, because I come back stronger and more motivated each time. To be honest, I feel like crap if I take a break for more than 2 weeks (and it hurts like hell when I start lifting again).
just my 2 cents
