To not beat about the bush, no its not.
You dont need to train youre legs 3 times in one week.
Why not try a regular 4-5 day split.
    My old split was
mon: back rear delts traps forarms
    Tues: chest front/side delts abs
    wed off
    thur: legs
    Fri: Arms and calves.
    Hope this helps.

its all about how your body responds, AND this is the split mine responds to best:

    Mon: chest
    tue: back
    wed: off
    thur: arms
    fri: shoulders
    sat: legs
    Sun: off

I do 1 light warm-up set then 3 heavy work sets about 6-8 reps each exercise. Usually 3 exercises/day. I also throw in ABS on tue, thur, and sat.

I personnally separate my workout on 8 days

    Day 1: Chest
    Day 2: Back
    Day 3: Off
    Day 4: Legs / Calves
    Day 5: Off
    Day 6: Shoulders / Traps
    Day 7: Biceps / Triceps / Forearms
    Day 8: Off

I do abs every other day before going to sleep. I don't bother to do it at the gym, I feel like I'm loosing energy I could use to recover.

I have plenty of time to recover and my lifts are always going up.

im curious as to why you guys work the whole arm on the same day, instead of doing maybe chest/triceps on the same day?

Personnally, I think that doing something like chest/tricep preexhausts my muscle and doesn't give'em the full workout they need. But that's one of my not so based on actual facts belief... so don't follow my advice :P

If three times a week is too much, what would be the right amount if your legs are severly lacking?

Ive always gone for tri/chest as they are both used in nearly same exercises etc, eg bench.

i've done Legs and various other bodyparts 3 times a week in a cyclic fashion...without hampering recovery...and while being 100% Natural. It depends on the individual..and your goal(s)
