It is as I know it to be a very high intensity cardio designed to get your MHR sustained in short 20minute durations. Supposed to keep your metabolism rate into high gear for most of the day,thus burning fat as a result. The funny thing is Max OT cardio is said to also build muscle too!! Not sure about that claim but the heart may grow stronger. Increasing your cardio vascular systems with high intensity cardio may indirectly help muscle building due to the added benefit of increased oxygen uptake capability during heavy lifting. I am not too sure but that is MaxOTcardio.
This reminds me somewhat of the Bill Phillip's 20 minute High Intensity Aerobic workout. Although I am no expert I must admit that I find myself consistenly doing 80%+ of my MHR in my cardio workouts. If I didn't, I would never break a sweat at 65% MHR. Although I don't go to my maximum (as Phillip's recommends) I do enjoy getting soaking wet. It makes me feel like I accomplished something. And, I normally go for around 45 minutes.
