    Can you shape pecs ?

I"m trying to shape my pecs, I want them to be square. Is it all down to genetics or can they be shaped with weighted dips or flys ? Has anyone any tips ?

your pecs will be shaped over time with the building of muscle. Just stick to your routine and over time they will take shape. Also i have found that cable exercises and flys will help to gain definition.

As far as dips go...I find the more that I lean forward with legs back in comparison to torso... the more pec that is involved...the more vertical I am while I go up and down the more it is soley tri's (btw when you go perfect vertical up and down on tri's it stretches the hell out of the head...but feels hella good/sore!)

I always thought it wasn't really possible to "shape" the pec and that it was more genetics...You can however increase / decrease size from what I've been shown

    Good luck bro.

Depends on how picky you are about the shape. Genetics will limit the shape to some extent.

Those with great (even good) genetics don't know how lucky they are...

Anyway, try dips at the end of your workout and superset them with pec-deck. It's helped to shape mine pretty well. Get a lot of reps out of each, 12-15, if not more.

Its down to the exercises you do and what part of the muscle you attack. If you lack at the bottom do dips and decline, if you lack up top do incline and so forth.

This is probably definitely true...I probably haven't really worried about shape yet because I have yet to fully understand all the nuances of the sport...I'm still on the "trying to attain freakishly huge base" part...hopefully someday I'll successfully have the base I want to start tuning the finer parts of the physique.
