I do both in the same set. 10 crushers, then 10 presses. They're both good for putting mass on your tris. I couldn't tell ya which one's better...
Skull crushers, just aslong as you do them wright. Iv'e seen so many people do them wrong and wonder why their tri's are lagging.
The correct way is shown in Arnolds bodybuilding encyclopedia. if you don't have it i'll explain in more detail how to perform them properly.
later.

For overall greater mass close grip bench (not too close like hands touching which is wrong) with moderate to heavy weights. However, to me makes no sense doing one and not the other, so do both.
Both are equally good mass building exercises.
i do both on same day, so i really couldnt tell ya, but i feel skull crushers more, but u have to have correct form..Jason
I like my close grip bench, 5-6 inchs apart with thumbs out..feels great
How do you manage to have your thumbs out? Are you doing reverse close grip bench?Originally Posted by needmorestrength

skull crushers
Not best..but better
IMO close grip bench press is better
Best IMO is overhead Dumbell Extension
skullcrushers hurt my elbows.. i stay away from those man. (even with light weight).. close grip doesnt hurt as much.. i can usually do em without a joint pain in my elbows... otherwise i stay away and do other stuff like pushdowns

Close grips.
I incorporate both, but close-grip bench has been a favourite of mine.....
close grip
IMO for triceps mass you can not beat close-grip bench press. But i also agree that you would stimulate more growth using both, but i would definately do close-grip bench first.
