does anyone do reverse grip bench as good compound movement for the tris?
i tried them yesterday and they felt weird and uncomfortable..how close should the grip be..the same as bench press for chest

no you should have your hands in closer than you would on regular bench press!
good way to get injured.

Just do close grip
I was just thinking about this too but for a different body part. i'll try to explain . instead of doing palms up cable pressdown for that tiny part of the tricep. how about laying on your back and doing like palms down skull crusher or with a dumbell palms down laying on your back, elbows at your sides extend arms with elbows staionary. kind of like a dumbell kick back but you have more control of not swinging yor arm and could push more weight.would this work??
a lot of bodybuilders do reverse grip bench for tri's. there's nothing wrong with it. Try to keep elbows in and hands about 12" apart
If you have any problems with elbow soreness reverse grip benches will expose them. Close grips are better for growth anyway IMO.
Its just what works for you if it feels uncomfortable don't do it to easy to get injured.
challenge me and i will succeed
Can't stand em, stick with traditional close grip bench.
The only time I did reverse grip bench was with a light weight nothing more that 135lbs. For me though ropes, sanding tri ex., skull crushes, and close grip bench are the bead and butter to my tri's. Can't wait until Monday.
