Come on, what do you do?
I keep my reps between 10 to 20 for calves. I start with high reps and work my way down as I increase weight.
gotta mix it up.....
I find that I have to fix it up, but I generally respond best to the 12-15 reps range, still going as heavy as possible but still about to get the high reps (around the 360-400lb range on the standing calve raise)
i dont do calves, my calves r way ahead of the rest of my body. i think i done them a lil 2 much back n the day. could thro shit down when i was 15. everyone joked about me being half black.
i read somewhere that u were supposed to do seated calf raises with weight that u coudl do for about 40 seconds and standin for 20 seconds dont know how true it is
My delts are gifted.... pitty about my calves. I am working on themQuote:

Heavy as hell standing calf raises and high rep sitted or donkey calf raises.
After doing my other leg exercises.....
seated calf raises 1st -- very heavy
then finish with standing raises -- moderate weight and higher reps usually 15-20 for 2 or maybe 3 sets.
Then walk like grandpa out of the gym :D
fuck raises...get implants
hahahahaha implants....did u see that shit on MTV, that kid was the biggest geek..his calves werent even his weak part, his whole body was...clown
I do 4 plates on seated calve raises for 20 reps.... On the other machine where you "push" the pads forward I do 20-25 reps with 10 plates.... 4 sets each exercise.
This man told me yesterday at the gym that I had HUGE calves! Yippie!!
I would not call them Mike M-HUGE, but you do seem to have decent size well-defined calves? How man plates? 4x45lbs or what?Quote:

I go heavy, real heavy. People don't realize how strong there calves are. It's a very dense muscle so pack on the weight and don't be afraid!
Jenna that's damn impressive and if Big Kev says it's true it must be.
I am not sure which machine you are talking about, but 12 plates:eek: ??? that's 24x45=1080lbs. wow, I am impressed, I can never get above 600 lbs on standing calves. Jenna is a female version of Arnold:) or Dorian, he used up to 1300lbs on his calf machine. Go Jenna:)Quote:

LOL - I do 5 plates on each size for a total of 10 .... 20-25 times... so, that'd be 45x10... so 450 lbs... not 12 - YET.....Quote:

Calves suck!
Kevin dear - It was a lot.... but it WAS 10, not 12... I know because 6 won't fit on each side... I tried...Quote:

But yea - it was still more than you could do.... ;)
Now on squats...that's a different story.....
Hardest part of that workout sounds like putting the plates on and taking them off. That alone would wear me out.
