    Very effective!!

Make sure you use proper form and a weight you can handle. Feet about shoulder width apart, back at about 70 degrees, lower back slightly arched (NOT rounded). Pull the handles to your lower abdomen (plates will touch your chest), pause and try to squeeze your shoulder blades together and then slowly back down. Pause and feel the stretch at the bottom then start again.

From my own personal experience I prefer bent over reverse-grip barbell rows for adding thickness and mass to my back. For me they work better then t-bar rows. The only time I do t-bars is when my lower back is bothering me. But it is an individual preference.

My gym just got the Hammer strength Iso-Low Row Machine. It rocks!!!! Especially if your used to lower back pain the day after barbell rows like me. Never liked the t-bar simply because I have long limbs and wouldn't be able to hit a full range without slammin' my nads.

    Talking Hello all !

I just joined last night . This board is set up awsome. The thing I like most is the people here. Also moderators keep up the good work ! I been checking out this board for awhile now and decided to make it my new board home. I do heavy close grip low rows when i don't do t bars. I don't have a bad back but i recommend close grip low rows to substitute for t bars. TRAIN HARD AND SAFE ALL!!

    Thumbs up Forgot this !

For people who have bad backs I recommend close grip low rows for a substitute. If you don't have a bad back there is no excuse not to do them. They are very effective !! TRAIN HARD AND SAFE ALL

I LOVE t bars, that is one of the few exercises that I somewhat excel in. At least for my size, it seems like I can just tell myself to add more weight, and I do. Iso Low rows are awesome as well. Try supersetting seated rows with...shit i dont even know the name, almost like tricep pushdowns on the cable, except keep your arms straight. FUCK IT! I'm calling them PaPaPumP Pulldowns. And thats that.

I ask my Fitness lecturer about a name for the isolation lat exercise you are reffering to and even he didn't now. Can anyone help me out here?

PaPAPump pulldown... kinda has a ring to it.
