I have added some quality muscle to my calves by doing about 4 exercises composed of 3-4 sets each, of a weight that I can do 20 times pretty hard, this has worked really good for me, hopefully this helps, good luck.

I have been noticing really good gains off my current calf workout. It only works if you have a set of stairs in your gym though.

I go up about 20 stairs with 7 reps on each stair.

    1st step - feet straight 7rps
2nd step - Toes pointed inward 7 rps
3rd step - Toes pointed out 7 reps

It hits the calves from every angle, make sure you dont cheat, and only hold onto the railing if you start fallin over. I use this for a burnout, at first it was good for my only calf exercise, but like all exercise, the body will adapt, so do at least one exercise with 3 sets before this.

ok bro do seated calv raises 15 reps per set
standing i do at 15 per set as well
alter the position of your feet ie. \ / and / \ and l l
this works your calves from diff angles
i also do donkey calv raises at 15 per set
    hope this helps

is there really any evidence supporting the idea that switching the angle of your feel actually targets diff. areas of the calf? isn't that like saying decline targets lower chest, or that foot postion on squats will target diff. areas of the quads? don't get upset, i was just curious, based on what i've heard elsewhere...

Changing foot position sure feels like it hits different areas. But I find this on squats as well...has someone actually proven that foot position has not affect on which part of the quad is worked?
