Helps stabilize sideward torque minimizing ligament damage. Keeps knee cap in place supposidly.
Also, if wrapped correctly knee wraps can increase squat max significantly. And remember the heavier you go, using correct form, the bigger and stronger you get! As a powerlifter they are a staple of my squat routines while hitting my max effort sets.
So where do I find out how to wrap my knees?
i learnt it from watching ronnie colemans 'unbeleivable'.Originally Posted by ryan26
There are different kinds of wraps, they range in length and strength.
Hopefully you have raps with lines splitting the wraps in half, length ways. Make your first wrap about 4-5 inches above your knee, wrap your way down your knee just covering the lines as you go. Don't be scared to wrap them pretty tight, in fact real tight. The wrap should end about 4-5 inches below knee. You'll be amazed how much stronger your legs will feel. Good luck and have fun. Pm me if you have more questions.
I always use the wraps on partial squats. Yes, I do them.. very heavy for my size. Like Ranger said wrap tight otherwise they are useless for the intended purpose. But release them after each lift to allow circulation.
anyone have a website to get the knee wraps ?
Most good sporting good stores should have them.
