don't want to sound ignorant but i really would like to do some olympic lifts for a change in my routine (cleans and snatches) but i never see anyone at the gym doing them and i don't know how to do them properly. could someone explain? thanks.

explaining would be next to impossible you have to have someone show you. You won't see them done at most gyms either because most people don't know how to do them.
For me nothing works better for putting on size. I am probably one of the only people at my gym that uses the platforms regularly.
cleans and snatches are great....ill try to find an old website that desribes how to do them
Check out t-nation.com and look up articles from Coach John Davies. The pics and descriptions are excellent. There will be different variations to work on as well.

Great lifts, tons of fun to do.
olympic style lifts will get you strong as hell if done properly get a lifting coach.
