I Take A Week Off In The Middle Of A Cycle To Rest And Recoupe From The Heavy Workouts
Keep Up The Calories And Don't Miss A Shot
I usually take a week off every once in a while. Generally it's not by choice, I travel a lot so things get screwed up on their own and when that happens I don't get too worked up about it. I just say to myself I needed a break anyways.
yea tru...i read sumwhere its good to take a week off like every 2 months or so..
yeah i do occasionally when I lose the spark to lift. But its good for me cause when i come back, im a lifting maniac again.... Plus its probably good for your muscles to take some extra time off every now and then
alo
yup, i read ppl said they come back stronger...
Well its probably more of a mental thing from being away from something you love to do, but hey, whatever works

it is good to take a 3 or 4 day break every 4-5 weeks. Generally if i take off more time, even if i feel run down, i start to get very ansy and hyper if i don't have my workout. (kind of a really bad feeling)
anyone else
I always take a week off -sometimes 2- after about 10-12 weeks of workouts.
yup. best thing you can do as well.It gives your body time to fully recoupe, 100%
Ya cant keep tearing, tearing, tearing, without giving the body a good rest every now and again.
thanks guys
ill move workouts back 3 or 4 days sometimes to give myself a little more rest..but like above..not really by choice they will just get messed up
Yeah i always take a week off since i too travel alot. Its crazy but it seems when i get back to gym after that week, i feel stronger and look more defined.
Weird.......

Besides, after taking a whole week off chances are you will feel sore as hell when you start again.
yea,i am SORE as hell
I just took a week off afer 4 weeks on w/test c and EQ, I had gained 5 pounds, gained another 5 during my week off, with the way most people on here work out, you never really get enough rest for your muscle to fully recover, deep down I mean, you heal most of the fibers but no the deep ones, the week off gives your body the chance to heal those fibers.

if i took off two weeks after a 12week cycle would that be to long?
all you people who see mad gains from taking a week off i encourage you to try the routine im on. I work one day on and one day off, i do cardio on the off days and pretty much the on days to lol but i take cardio off on legs day n the day after.
My week off usually ends up being the whole summer. For me. the whole week off becomes a new bad habit.
I take the week off - down about 20 liters of Coke, Buy me a couple dozen Little Debbie's for quick energy and then load up a bunch of butter and syrup on pancakes each day for breakfast.
By weeks end I got my body fat up to about 28% and I'm feelin HUGE!

My routine is seems typical. I take a full week off every 2-3 months.
Have to let those muscles rest up
is taking two weeks of going to hurt me?
What do you eat during that week off? i wouldnt figure you'd want to change much...but are there any modifications???
When i go 2 weeks off, i come back weaker. howeverm, i think its mostly nuerological efficiency loss, not muscle loss. nothing you cant get back in a weekOriginally Posted by jeffsz28
