Rest between Sets
just wondering the amount of rest everyone has between sets .
i know the ideal for strength is like 3 min +
but for gaining size do people combine highr reps with lower rest (1min)
or higher reps with same rest.
just wondering what people do

I usually don't time my rest periods.I pretty much just catch my breath and grind out another set.If I had to guess,I'd say 1 minute or slightly less.

test yourself, one workout rest 3-4 min, then a 2nd workout rest 1 min and see if your more sore the next day with waiting longer or shorter amount of time, my guesss is shorter -it works for me, its how i train.

I very seldom rest more than 1 minute between sets. I've tried various approaches and this seems to work best for me.

for core lifts like heavt presses squat and deads, about 3 - 5minutes depending on how heavy, all auxilary lifts of 8 to ten reps, 2minutes rest at the most. lift when you feel ready to lift, unless you are working on speed reps, than its 30 seconds , but thats a whole different story
