How many times a week do you guys work out your abs, and what exercises/sets/reps do you do?

IMO abs can be done ED or EOD as long as you're not sore. Your abs recover FASTER then most other muscle groups. I use the 1/2 ball and balance myself on or around the small of my back and raise my lower body and upper body at the same time (similar to pilates) doing 5 sets of 20.
i do me every day.

I never did them. I just diet and when I'm lean enough....boop! There it is! I never see intercostals though. I guess I'd have to work them.
Now why doesn’t that surprise me.....Originally Posted by iambiggerthanyou00

what's up with that guy does he just like making an ass of himself?
i hit abs 2 times ED five times a week, usually crunches in the morning and leg raises at night
Like I said ED .................. "Do IT" !
ill take bigpups word, his pic looks like he knows what hes talkin about
i work them once a week, rope crunches with heavy weights, usually 3 sets, last one to failure.

Once a week is all i really need. Im very actice so my abs get a good workout from all the sports i play.
Twice a week...weighted crunches...
i do them three times a week......i switch up all kinds of different excercises but i really like the Nautilus Crunch machine, and hanging leg raises and oblique raises as well as decline leg raises.
I work them once every 6 days and that is all they need. IMO they are like any other muscle and need time to recoup IF you are hitting them properly and with the intencity they need.
I don't understand the idea behind working them Ed or EOD?? Would you work bi's ED or EOD? or Calves? come on.. if you do it right you dont need to hit any muscle that often.
Of course this is my opinion not flaming anyone

I just recently started training them again, and I like doing them once a day, since they never get soar. One program I have found to get me soar every now and then, now bear with me and keep the laughter to a murmor, is 8 minute abs. Its a pretty sweet little tape and if you get used to doing it once you can always turn it into 16 min abs, which isnt for the faint of heart. Also if any of you care, it can be found for free on limewire.

Anyways, I do mine once a week. I usually pick out 2 of the following exercises and do 2 sets each week.
-Hanging Leg Lifts
-Incline Weighted Reverse Crunch
-Decline Sit Ups
-Cable Crunches
ExRx (Exercise Prescription)
- Sweat plus sacrifice equals success. - Charlie Finley
- It doesn't get easier, you just get faster. - Greg LeMond
2 times a week while watching the diet!!!
7 days/week. As an athlete we were always forced to do AB's everyday- now it's a habit... and I can't find ANY ab workout that will get them sore!CHALLENGE ME!!!! any ab workouts you dare to throw at me?

(Not gonna lie I enjoy that burning sensation haha)
I only work abs near time of competition. They get more than enough work doing squats, bent barbell rows, deadlifts ect..honestly I don't know many BBers that do abs year round.
~Pinnacle~
I train my abs/obliques two times per week. I work in sagittal plane (abs) on Mondays and the transverse or frontal plane (obliques) on Thursdays. I don't train them for appearance, more for function.
Twice for me.
every 3 days lying leg lifts off a bench...60 of them
Everyday. Spring Break is coming up!
well I slack a lot with it, but when I took my avatar photo I was doing them 3 times a week
You train too much, when i see the weight u can push at your age i wonder what happened to you younger..i hit abs 2 times ED five times a week, usually crunches in the morning and leg raises at night
How can u have all that rage inside you?
Have u been raped? (joke)
i dont particulaly want my abs to grow alot but tone and shape yes so i work them 3x per week.
Hey girl, a buddy of mine showed me a neat trick, don't know if you've done it but it might get you sore.Originally Posted by lilKimmy2
get a partner, and you lay on your back (stay with em this sin't what you think) ok you crunch up and keep your four main fingers barely touching your head above your ear, thumb under ear. bring your knees up and keep them in contact with your elbows. have your partner rock you by your feet up and down VERY slowly. keep your elbows in constant contact with your knees and do it as long as possible. very good burn for me...
they are hit in every heavy compound movment i do
Same as me while i m bulking and it allow me to take heavier because they are always fresh.they are hit in every heavy compound movment i do

Personally work his abs five or seven days a week is a lost of time.
Just give a look to MrMention.
