Does doing straight bar preacher curls work a different part of the bicep than standing straight bar curls? Or do they both work the same part of the bicep?

preacher curls stress the lowwer biceps more however most people dont let their arms extend fully losing the benifit of the preacher curl
bar curls a curl in my book if u do it w/ proper form .. ur going to grow![]()
straight bar curls are the way to go...unless you have wrist problems/pain...i believe that is why the curl bar was invented, to help alievite that prob...
But is there a difference between standing straight bar curls and straight bar preacher curls in terms of what part of the bicep gets hit more?
Different angles hit diff parts of the Bicep.
Anyone else?
depends on hand placement on the straight barbell basically the narrow grip works the biceps longhead and the wide grip works the biceps short head vs. preacher curls the only difference is preachers work the lower bicep more as long as you do it with correct form like stated above hope this helps good luck

The preacher curl by far with proper form (all the way down IMO) works the lower bicep. That you can feel. The straight bar works more the medial and upper part of the bicep. I personally do them both on arm days, it gives me a good all around bicep workout. Try it.![]()
Thanks fellas!
So preachers work more of the lower bicep and standing straight bar curls work the whole bicep.
I think I got it now.
