Problems with routine
I don't really like my current routine...it looks like this.
Monday-Chest/Triceps
Tuesday-Back/Biceps
Wednesday-off
Thursday-Shoulders/Traps
Friday-Legs
I dont really like having stimulated my triceps/biceps after training chest/back. My arms are really lagging and I was wondering if you guys thought if it would be a better idea to do an arm day? I was thinking something like this
Monday-Chest
Tuesday-Back/Traps
Wednesday-off
Thursday-arms
Friday-legs
Saturday-shoulders
This way, nothing is overlapped and my arms are being worked fresh without being stimulated earlier in that workout. Only problem I have with this one is no break day after legs. Do you guys feel that I could be fine with this without taxing my CNS too much??
Im open to routine suggestions too.Last edited by chest6; 02-08-2006 at 12:31 AM.

good suggestion. I like the idea of being fresh to train my arms because they are seriously lagging behind.

yea i know what you mean when i started working out i overtrained so much and basically wasted my time for a year almost i did chest/tris back/bis and legs and shoulders twice a week i was so stupid such a waste of time haha

haha oh well. I might experiment with doing arms twice a week someday. I used to do all of those 3 times a week for like 4 years so I know what you mean.

Thats what I was thinking. Must be like a 20minute day.

I like:
Sunday - REST
Monday - Chest / Shoulders
Tuesday - Back / Traps / Calves
Wednesday - REST
Thursday - Tris / Bis / Forearms
Friday - Quads / Hams / Calves
Saturday - REST
This works well for me...I am switching back to this routine in a week. I did this routine about 8 months ago, but had Legs first and everything else pushed back a day...priority for the wheels...

I'm haveing the same problem, arms are way to small compared to the rest of me.
I have been working back/bis , chest/shoulders/tris
I was thinking about doing an arm day or just not working them as much as I have been. My problem is I might be overtraining them, or they just won't fvckin grow.

usually an hour maybe a little longer on chest, bi, and tri days i usually do some cardio along with abs or calves with them i do 16 total sets per body part 4 exercises 4 sets each

I'd do chest/shoulders but my shoulders take a pounding from chest movements so they would be shot by the time I got to them.

I think I'll give that one a try. That was my initial thought was to do chest/shoulder day or chest/shoulders/tris but the second defeated the purpose of working arms fresh obviously.

bro i highly reccomend tryin out swolecats leg routine its so simple yet so effective its amazing i did it today and had a hard time driving home from the gym i know its off topic but its definatly worth a try especially if your legs are at a plateau wow theyre sore alright its only been 3 hours since i worked out haha

Yup Ive done swole's routine many times holy shit it kicks ur ass. Im planning on doing it in a week or two. Im not sure if I respond well off high reps..I get much more sore when I do 4-8 reps than the 15-20 range.

Yep, my pwo shake had to wait a bit longer than usual the other day because i went insane high reps and almost passed out. 315 for 23 was my last set then I did 4 sets of 20 on leg press iwth as much weight as I could handle ahhh I was screaming afterwards.

My split is the same as yours chest. I somewhat have the same problems too. I personally would stick to 4 days.

4 it is. I think I overtrain pretty easily as it is and 5 days wouldn't fair well with me, especially training the day after a heavy leg day.

My biceps are sore from doing back on Tuesday (who knew). Any problem in training bi's today? I'm not so sure I should train them if they are still sore.

lol u shud give my routine a try i have had great success w/ it as well as all the others who have tried it that i know.
its the first page in me log.. may seem like over traiing but since the workouts are short and sweet it really adds up to about 3 reall good workouts just spread out over the week to reduce cortisol build up and make the week more entertaining
