You shouldn't really have to hit the traps directly. If you are doing heavy compounds suchs as deads, and m-press etc the traps will get enough work.

I think that refers to a type of bar that you can use to do shrugs. It's like a straight bar but with a dip in the center to make doing shrugs easier but i could be off on this.

i could be heaps wrong aswell but i was guessing that you hold a dumbell in each hand as if you were to do trap raises but with the monkey raises you lift the dumbells all the way up to ur armpits...

sum1 was talking about it in a topic but i dont remember which one...

nevertheless so you guys think you dont need to do traps exercises as the traps should automatically develop from other exercises?

This is where genetics come in to play if your traps are underdeveloped, 3 sets of shrugs before back won’t hurt you.

But don’t think that 15 sets of 20 reps with 10 different exercises will help with hypertrophy because it wont.

Me personally I do as I said 3-4 sets of B/B shrugs before or after back day.

    .
    Agreed with this.

I rarely do shrugs.Compound exercises bring them up on there own.No need to expend any unnecessary energy.
