    Beat down this 5x5 split...

    i know this is direct copy and paste from sticky but there isnt no room for comments from users in sticky and i wanna get some input from you guys before i change up my routine to this split.... any input is appretiated .. thx and advance bros... also was wondering how people go about warming up when doing the 8-10 rep sets do they count purely just the working sets?

    Day 1 chest/calves
    Flat bench 5x5
    incline dumbell press 2x8-10
    machine flyes 2x8-10
    standing calve raises 5x15

    Day 2 back/shoulders
    military press 5x5
    side laterals 3-5x8-10
    deads 5x5
    chins 2x8-10
    shrugs 2x8-10
    rows 2x8-10
    bent over laterals 2x8-10

    Day 3&4 rest

    Day 5 bis/tris
    close grip bench 5x5
    standing barbell curls 5x5
    weighted dips 2x8-10
    incline dumbell curls 2x8-10
    skull crushers 2x8-10
    preacher curls 2x8-10

    Day 6 legs
    squats 5x5
    leg press or hacks 2x8-10( I dont do any more exercises for quads as I dont need to)
    stiff legged deads 2x8-10
    leg curls 2x8-10
    seated calve raises 5x15
    abs - weighted static holds

    Day 7 rest

    Working sets are just that.Warm up sets never count.So when you see the number of sets listed in a program,they are woking sets.Usually an * lets you know those are warm up sets.

    Yeah, but are working sets always supposed to be taken til failure. If not, what sets need to be taken til failure?

    If one of your questions is how to warm up with a certain #of reps...I would say it is about the same regardless...personally I like to warm up on a bike for ~5mins...

    Then do a super set or two to get the blood flowing...

    Im just looking over your excercises...how long do you usually spend in the gym...?

    That dependends on the program you are using.Example would be some sort of HIT program where you are doing minimal sets.All those sets would be bought to absolute failure.Actually beyond failure if you know what I mean?
    Now if you are running a program like above,and brought every set to absolute failure,chances are you'd over train,or injure yourself.I'd bring the last set in each exercise (in the above program) to absolute failure.
