muscle failure
Hi
I'm looking to bulk up and have been told that muscles grow more quickly when you exercise them to the point of muscular failure. I'm not sure what this means exactly?
Is this point when your muscles start to burn and is working towards pain really a good thing? I read in a fitness magazine that it wasn't... confused!
Are the muscles suppose to fail at the end of every set or just the final set in the repatoir?
How do you know when the weights are too heavy?

Weights r too heavy when you cant do yr desired amount.
12 reps at 70%
10 reps at 75%
8 reps at 80%
6 reps at 85%
4 at 90%
2 at 95%
1 at 100%
Thus, 100% being your max and can only do 1 rep of that weight.
If your looking for more bulk and mass, make a rountine with the low reps, high weights....after each set, rest for 3-5 minutes.
