    sore hamstrings after deadlift?

started to do deadlifts again after a good while now cause of lower back probs, felt good really intense, back is absolutely mashed

however i did the workout saturday and my hamstrings are very sore and quads feel nothing? im sure deadlift is a lower back/glute/quad exercise? why are my hamstrings so sore?

are you serious?deadlift works the entire posterior chain!!! especilly hamstrings if you are conventional stance deadlifter. the dead doesnt really focus on quads , yes you get a little but they are not the major muscle in this movement. it is mostly lowerback, hamstrings and traps. it is not a suprise to me that your quds didnt get hammered, squat with a close stance bellow parallel , that will hit quads

Yup. My quads never hurt from deadlifts, but my hams get tight from time to time. Just stretch out real good, and it should help with that tightness your feeling.

    Hey Doc

In your opinion, are straight leg deads or regular deads better for building up your ass?

ok thanks guys, just got me confused because the movement seems similar to a sqaut to me, at least it shows my form was ok.

on exercise database link showed above its saying main workout is quads, even more confused now!!

and can you please look at the demo video her form doesnt look that great compared to the guides i just read??

that is a crock of crap! the dead is my best lift and one i spent alot of time learning and researching, yes quads are used in the lift but they are NOT the main muscle.
