Hey guys, my workout seems to be a bit stagnant. I have always had a good handle on what was good for me until two years of a serious illness followed by a year of chemo. My age going from 48 to 52 (took two years to get everything back to something like normal) probably had something to do with it also. That said I've had great gains in the last six months until recently. Muscle does have a memory. I am pretty old school on reps and sets. I train to failure on every set after a warm-up set. I perform 10 reps for the first set then add enough weight to max out at 8, then the same for 6, 4, 2. I do 16 sets for chest, 16, for back, 16 for legs, 16 for arms, 14 for shoulders. One body part per week Monday - Friday. My eating habits are fairly solid, could be a bit better. Never got sore and still don't. Rest is OK. This routine has always worked before but now I'm not able to add weight every week and in some cases my reps have fallen back. I don't think I have maxed out my weight even for my age, I more than likely will never bench over 400 again, but I have a hard time giving in to hitting the wall now. It's extremely frustrating and a bit scary. How about some advise from the educated guys to an experienced lifter, but not an old experienced lifter. Thanks C
