--help with running-- my fatass needs to get in shape!!!

Hows it going everyone, i have about 4 weeks to get into shape good enough to run a mile and a half in a lil under 13 minutes.. i ran today on the tread mill and hit almost a mile and a quarter in 13 minutes on a 1% incline

. I used to be able to run a mile and a half no problem till i started putting on some serious bulk, im around 230 now at 5-8.. does anyone know a good routine where i will not lose much size that will get me in shape asap. thanks

when tarining for an event like that, practicing is the best way to go. run it comfortably, and just try to improve your time every couple of days. and after you improve, up the intensity and just keep improving. always run the distance desired to allow your body to become accustomed to that distance...

Ahhh Yeah they have the same test.

13 minute mile and a half
    bench 98% of your weight
    sit and reach
    sit-ups

agree, keep to running the distance you need to no less no more , you could try afew vaiations out allways measuring your time, pace yourself all the way, sprint jog sprint jog etc to find what your comfortable with, personally i like the latter. gud luk getting in, gunna try out myself oneday.

    yo

Bro i'm in the Army and i'm a big guy and when it comes to PT tests you just gotta suck it up. You have one month you said, that's not enough time to train your run time down especially if you don't want to lose any size like you stated. Sure, practice your mile and a half time if you want.....but only a few times so you know if you can do it in 13 minutes. But basically so you don't lose any size your just gonna have to run till you puke on the day of the test. Push yourself like never before one time and call it good. Then you wont lose any size at all. Healthy, hmm probablly not but one time ain't gonna hurt nothing......Just my opinion. Good luck.

do you mean like ankle weights? or like a backpack?

I think he means a backpack, it'll make your body accustomed to carrying extra weight around then you go run quicker when its just your body weight. Good luck
