    Bicep Curl Question

I saw this guy in the weight room today with huge guns probaby a good 20 inches on a 180 pound frame. I asked him what he did for biceps. He said one exercised really helped. Single arm dumbell curls, but instead of keeping his arm parrellel to his side he twists his arm outward. Kinda hard to explain. Basically twist shoulder joint and point elbow towards your side. You kinda feel a muscle pull when you do it. he said it cuts down on cheating and really targets just your bicep. Has anyone evr heard of this? Or done it? I figure I will try it.

Ill try it this week...although my biceps are my strong point so I might not really tell a difference etc...seems like it could help...but you would have to be careful if doing it correctly(how he said)

the thing ive noticed the most is doing deads after working my bi's and occasionally, about once a month, i do one set of 40-50 reps after my deads

it almost seems like by pointing your elbow into your side, your trying to anchor ur arm in place to avoid swinging it???? correct me if im thinking of something diff, i was having trouble picturing the exercise from the description

i think he means keeping your upper arms at your side while pointing your forearm out, so like your thumb is pointing behind you

Yeah thats probably a better definition. Your elbow does not touck your body. I am going to give it a shot tomarrow. I been practicing without weights all night

Its always safe to assume that!

Does anyone know the name of this type of curl?

I did it today but I used the straight bar, man it was tough, but it was awesome on the bi's!

Sounds like he is talking about suppination. Remember, the biceps have 2 jobs, to bring the forearm up to the upper arm as well as rotating the forearm. In this method, both are utilized by constantly rotating Dumbbell as you bring up the weight, squeezing biceps the whole time.

Try feeling your muscles out when excercising focus on the feel .Hitting different angles helps ! I like to go heavy to feel fuller and I'll hit the cables to hit it differently . ANGLES
