    abs....wtf!?

alright, so i haven't done abs in about 2 weeks (yah, I'm bulking now). So tonight after shoulders I did 20 inclines w/ a 25lb plate (planning on doing 4 sets). after the first set, my abs tensed up completely....i mean really painful. so i just called it a day. now I'm sitting here w/ my pwo and they still hurt....is it just that I haven't worked them in a while? a cramp?

Have you done this exercise before? Even when bulking, you should do some abdominal strengthening exercises. A strong set of abs will make you stronger in your lifts.

My guess is that you will be experiencing some delayed onset muscle soreness in a day or two.

    i agree

deads and squats work my abs enough for me to see them unflexed through my entire bulk

Westside Barbell (Louie Simmons, Dave Tate) would definitely disagree with strengthening the core is not going to make you stronger.
