Overtraining or just increase in test levels?

I'm just getting back into working out again after a 2 year layoff (long story). Anyway, last week was my first heavy training week to try to start bulking back up.

Ever since, I've been real sore, which I guess I should expect cause of the long layoff. However, I have also been having insomnia issues the past few nights. I know that's a potential sign of overtraining, but I also know it might just be getting caused by a jump in my bodies natural testosterone levels.

It's hard for me to really decide at this point, and I don't want to take a break from lifting if I'm not actually overtraining. If anyone here has ever taken a long break like I did and might know what the most likely cause of the insomnia is, it would be much appreciated. I just always have such a hard time telling if I'm overtraining or not, saying as the symptoms are so vague, and I also know I get this kind of insomnia as well when I take a cycle and the gear starts to kick in, which could just mean my working out again is boosting my bodies own test levels up dramatically right now. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

ah, it's all good, thanks anyway. talked to a couple buddies of mine and they said it's normal after a long layoff to get the insomnia like i got cause of the jump in my bodies test. basically, i already knew the answer and just wanted to make sure.

looking at someones routine wouldn't really give an indication of overtraining unless their routine is nuts. mines a basic 1 bodypart trained per week kind of deal. right now, the deal is:

    mon - legs (14 sets), calves (10)
    tues - chest (12), shoulders (12)
    thur - back (12), ab (10)
    fri - bicep (10), tricep (10)

i typically do 2-3 sets per excercise, and train very intensely, hence not a very large volume set wise per bodypart. this is also only my second week of intense bulk-up training, so like i mentioned in the beginning of this post, there was my concern for overtraining. but between my rhr being normal and what others i've asked have told me, my insomnia definitely seems to be from test increase. thanks anyway.
