    changed squat technique

A guy at my gym informed me that I don't go down far enough on squats. He said I do like half squats. Im a fairly tall person so it puts a lil stress on my knees. Anyways I started going down parallel and I really had to decrease my weight. I feel a much better pump throughout my whole legs now instead of just the quads. Do yall think changing my form will help some more overall growth on my body? BTW I'm in my 12th week of my cycle

Being that you are actually doing the movement correctly now, yes.

    Just a shame it's 3 months late!

I am a tall person too. I've been trying something new that puts more leverage into my legs and takes it off my back. The stance whether it be shoulder width or wider a part doesn't matter. I go down to just above parallel for heavier sets. The difference is having the bar more on the back of the shoulders/upper back vs. on the top of your traps which is how I had been doing them for the last 10 years or so. Now going back to that way I feel off balance and puts abnormal pressure on my back. the only bad part is getting used to holding it in the new position as it puts a bit of pressure on teh shoulders.

Definitely decrease the weight and go to parallel, you will be well rewarded. Also, since it is new to you I would recommend dropping the weight even further and doing some pause squats just occasionaly. This can really help with the bottom of the squat, which you will no doubt be weak in from avoiding it. Get your form down right, and then watch the weight and the measurements climb.

I'll give that a try and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the tip
