i used to worry about pairing up bodyparts like chest and tris so they got the most punishment or it made the workout more effective but now i just hit it no matter what, although i do squats and deads on the same day(my routine demands it)these two are the only ones i wouldnt pair up.

My tips for adding sie to your guns

My arms are my wost body part by far, i mean they are embarrasing! but i have found good results working bis and tris in their own workout on a tuesday and then hitting them again with a 2nd smaller workout on a friday after back. The size is coming on slowly!

The smaller workout only consists of a couple of sets as i follow a low volume high intensity training program. Also i aim to reach failure at around 12-15 reps in the second workout, whereas the first workout of the week failure is hit ataround 6-12 reps.

I started doing this little over 2 months ago and have added size to my arms, I know Branch Warren has had good results with a similar program, jus look at how much his arms have improved at the ASC where he was robbed by the way. I mean Dex was fantasic but he was not a good as the previous year, he sacrificed fullness for condition i thicnk, somehting i have fallen victim too also!

    Just a suggestion

I tried chest/tri back/bies, but my tries were torched after I did chest and my bi's were the same way when I did back, so I now do chest/bi's back/tri's. That has been working good for me so far.

I only ever train bi's and tri's together. I dont do chest and tri's or back and bi's together ever. My workout routine is perfect the way it is and I dont see why I would ever change it. Gotta do what works for you.

personally, since i only train each bodypart once a week, i like to give them a little secondary work during their off days. with this in mind, i don't pair up bodyparts like chest/tri's and back/bi's, as despite the fact i'll really pound them that day, they won't get much of any more work at all for another full week. also, i find that whichever one gets trained second has already been pretty well exhausted and i just don't feel i give it an effective workout. then again like c_bino said, you gotta see what works for you.

It depends on your training goals for your body and your current stage of development...

one further note: when hitting back hard your bi's take some stick so if you were to hit bi's on a seperate day altogether this would hit them almost twice a week a good thing imo.

I do bis/tris on a seperate day b/c I feel my chest day taxes the bis enough it's more or less a seperate workout for them, and same goes for my back day w/ bis.

I usually always did as follows:
    -Chest//Tri's
    -Back//Bi's
    -Delts//Traps
    -Legs

    But Now I'm trying:
    -Bi's//Tri's
    -delts//traps
    -legs
    -Chest//Back

And I'm liknig the way I'm doing it now... Because now that Im doing my bi's//tri's when there fresh rather than after they have already been exhausted from working on either my back or chest...

back bi's , chest tri's. I find it makes splitting the week of workouts easier on my body.

Hmm. Personally, i never train biceps after chest. Because by that time, even though i am focusing on my lats and not my biceps, my biceps still get worn out during the session and there's nothing left to train biceps effectively.

Biceps with tris IMHO is a great option. They are opposing muscle groups, and can be worked supersetting each other, however you don't have to superset them; in fact i usually don't, i usually train one group at a time.

Triceps and chest, i do not think is a great decision, because again, training triceps after chest is asking your body to do a lot, and your triceps should be fairly fatigued anyway after hitting chest. When working back, biceps are automatically a secondary muscle- and when working chest, Triceps are automatically a second muscle group that is worked.

Thats the point though.. Your tris are already worked and being pushed very hard and now your going to directly hit them and push them to the max= GRWOTH! Most people dont see it like this, but just think about it- it makes sense..

It all depends on how you want to hit your arms. If you want to lift them 2 days a week then you should work them about 3 days after the corresponding body part. for example; If you do chest on Monday then you should hit tris on Thursday. HBy doing this your tris will be hit indirectly with chest and will also have their own day on Thursday. You shouldn't devote more than one day per week strictly to arms. For example. You don't want to lift tris on Tuesday after your chest day then again on Thursday because you would in effect be hitting tris 3 times a week; once on chest day and two other times on arm days.
Most will agree that you should hit tris with chest and bis with back because they are already going to be indirectly involved. Yes your tris will be week after chest but only because they have already been partially worked. If you are worried about them being weak after chest then hit them before chest. This is the same principle as pre-exhaust. Also keep in mind that you don't need as much work for your arms with this style of training. 2 exercise 3 sets each should be ample work for growth if you lift tris after chest or bis after back.
Why do you think most of the big boys advocate minimal working sets for optimal growth and the guys doing 15+ sets for each body part don't get any bigger or stronger.

I've always done chest/tri's ~ back/bi's together. I train each body part every four days. Has always worked well for me.

I think it depends on your personal goals. For me, I've tried both ways and one thing I noticed is that I don't get much of a pump when doing chest/tri, back/bi. When working my arms together they get a much better pump. It almost hurts. Gotta try out different ways and see what works best for you as an individual.
