help! no squats allowed
had orthoscpoic surgery last friday , removed 5 pieces of cartilige 1 which was 2 cm . surgeon said i could never do squats again. i say never is a long long time. in the mean time any suggestions on a replace ment exersize till i can work up to squats.. i plan on returning to leg routine next wednesday. previously doing squats 2 warm up sets of 12 @ 130 3 sets of 20 200lbs straight leg dead lifts 2 warm up sets @ 130 3 sets 6-8 180- 200 , calve raises 3 sets to burn 50 lbs dumb bells currently working out @ home .. gym membership is a possibility. stats 39- 220- 5'8 -20% ... currently on 9th week of 16 week cycle deca and test 200/250 2x week hgh 3iu 6/1 , anastrozole.5 m.g e.d. any help would be appreciated ..all ligaments look and feel good

Wow, u had surgery while you were on a cycle?
What part of your body was operated on? Knees??

yep right knee , supposed to be minor surgery , but is apparently tore up pretty good , havent missed any work outs cept my leg routine ,feels pretty good right now , i feel i could do some cardio but will probably wait another week or so. looks like a knee replacement will be in my future.any ideas on leg routine?

what type of specialist? this doc specializes in sports medicine ..according to him i cant climb poles any more either ... that however is not in the cards ..thats my bread and butter.

if it was your knee that was operated on then squats or leg presses wouldnt make much difference I wouldnt think. Both exercises require you to bend your knees against alot of resistance, squats just requires more stabilization and core/ back strength and support.

how about half squats? .... seems that would put less prssure on the knee joint..just thinking out load

Ideally you should do what I did after surgery and get into physical therapy.
You need to get your control/motor skills back first, then work on strength.
If not, you'll regret it!

thanks swole , i'm scheduled for doc visit on the 26th , after i return from vacat. i'm sure there will be some therapy scheduled .i' m not sure what kind of surgery you had but mine was pretty minor no muscle was cut and no ligament damage its been a week and it feels like i never went under the knife, i was diagnosed with arthio arthritis about 6 months ago, so cartilige damage is a way of life , but between the gear and the hgh and glucosemine , i've never felt better, but thanks for the input ..jaze
