new program, might be over training!!!

    whay up ?????

I just got back from the first day of my new program, and i think it might be over kill, tell me what you think...

I got this out of one arnolds books...
    Mon~ chest, back, shoulders, abs.
super set- benchpress and widegrip pullups- 5 sets 15 reps
super set- Inclined bench press and bentover barbell rows- 5 sets 12-15 reps.
super set- dumbbell flyes and t-bar rows- 5 sets 10-12 reps.
    Pullovers- 5 sets 15 reps
super set- mill press and side delt raises 5 sets 12-15 reps.
super set- rear delt raises and wrist curls 5 sets 15 reps
super set- calf raises and sit ups- calf 5 sets 15 reps, abs 5 sets 50reps.

this is what it looks like, by the time i got to shoulders i was so dead i could hardly lift anything, the rest of the workout follows the same theam...
on tue its legs and abs
on wed its arms, calves and abs,
then the cycle repeats itself again, so its a 6 day split.

tell me what you think, i think it might be to much......

I done this routine, its to long about an hour 15min.In 2-3 weeks I was overtraining.had to break it in half 2xday. Great gains then.

I think arnold may have been using? lol

overkill to say the least IMO. You can't keep supersetting like you are doing or you will go into a downward spiral. Supersets do serve a purpose but shouldn't be used in everyday routines or extended periods. You are gonna wreck your CNS. That's just my opinion though

No way its 1 hr 15min. at least 2 hrs. Bro give it a try and see how it goes. I have done a similer one. I love it. I learned alot of it... It tought me how to train hard. After a while, see which exersices you liked, then you can bulid your own routin, mix things up.

Arnold did it in 75 min, with 45 sec to 60 sec rest between super sets,

This is exactly what supersets are for, to cram in as many sets into a shorter time period.

A downward spiral wont happen until you start overtraining, and you will overtrain on this program. The key is to change just before overtraining.JMHO

Lets keep in mind that Arnold Schwarzenegger was running a ton of gear and was a genetic superman. I've done his "Basic Training" program before, basic my ass!! Somebody who was new to the gym and tried that program would drop dead of a ****ing heart attack!!!
